Lol! No but I have been a probation/parole officer for the state of Tennessee in a previous career. It was not my forte.

Agreed 100%. I don’t care if you’re selling me a toaster, try to put in a little effort. I guess some dealers and salesman count on people being too stupid or lazy to check it out thoroughly.
Yes, they are, but I noticed a crack in the instrument binnacle. A common issue, but a quality reproduction binnacle costs about $350-400 bucks. Some of the plastics in my car are starting to curl up and deteriorate. Some of those trim pieces are hard to find, others are easy to find NOS or repop.
That’s a fair statement, especially the part about not buying it from the owner.
DeLorean owner here. In typical DeLorean defensive fashion, I will say if they have been driven regularly (like most old cars), they are not the maintenance nightmares everyone purports them to be. My car’s PO drove it a few days a month, and it was obvious it was well cared for. I drive it every weekend barring major…
One of the best shows in recent times. Really underrated.
Small nit-pick: Marshall: a person’s first name. Marshal: a law enforcement officer of the federal court system, charged with executing federal court orders; an employee of the U.S. Marshals Service.
My daily commute is 75 miles one way, eastbound I-40 to Nashville. Luckily, I don’t experience much traffic until I get close to the city, and my workplace is on the east side of town, so I am doing a speed limit roll 90% of the way. It takes an hour 5 minutes in the morning. Leaving during rush hour Nashville is…
Torch doesn’t mention this in the video, but this particular Méhari has been on at least two “Lapland Raids”, a winter-time Rally of Citroëns in Lapland, Finland’s northernmost region.
It doesn’t see much outside direct sunlight. The plastic has held up pretty well for its age.
You are correct, as this happened to one of our other electric cars. We are currently working on a fix for that charge box.
If any Jalops are in the Louisville, Kentucky area this weekend, come see this car in person Saturday at the V-Dub Derby. It’ll be at the St. Joseph Children’s Home from 9pm to 4pm.
Nope, unfortunately. We have to drive it in Sport mode to keep the battery from totally discharging.
A couple of Chevrolet engineers did present to GM their one-off amphibious civilian Corvair, the Corphibian. GM execs said basically, um, no. Now the one and only is at Lane Motor Museum. https://www.lanemotormuseum.org/collection/cars/item/chevrolet-corphibian-1961
That was our middle school intern, Andrew. He’s an excellent guide. I’m so glad you had a great time.
We do have one. And I’m sending David an email now. https://www.lanemotormuseum.org/collection/cars/item/dkw-auto-union-munga-1958
While I personally like patina, I also think one can get too lazy with it, to where it looks like total crap. I get the whole “it can only look that way only once”, but if things start falling off, it’s not patina, you’re just neglecting it.
When Lane Motor Museum was preparing for our Dan Auerbach exhibit this time last year, an exhibit full of patina-filled H-D knuckleheads, we got...crickets. You would think an exhibit highlighting an important period of Harley’s history, coupled with a rock star’s beloved, barn-find collection, would get even a little…
Ha! We could put it next to the Citroën Mehari and Mini Moke.
I feel less weird having this 1:24 SE3 on my desk. Thanks!
