DeLoreans. Thanks to “that movie” as a youngin. Then it was a string of Hollywood cars, 007's DB5, The Ecto-1 Cadillac, Herbie the Love Bug. I am obsessed with MANY cars today, but that DeLorean started it all.

Nice...and a stick-shift too! The majority of these Pike cars were automatics (all of our Pike cars at the Lane are automatics). Good on ya!
All of the US demo models were left hand drive, and in English units (mph). And yes, in Okinawa they drive on the right-hand side of the road, as opposed to the rest of Japan.
I laughed way too hard at this. Can’t unsee.
I am huge coat of arms and medieval studies nerd, as well as a Jalop. This article hits ALL of my buttons. I always guessed it had something to do with the Ford family coat of arms, but nope. Here is an Irish Ford coat of arms:
I wonder what his knowledge is of the other Toyota sports car from the 1960s, the Sports 800. The story goes that the car was a massive hit in Japan, released in 1965. In ‘67, Toyota sent 41 Sports 800s to the then only 41 dealers in the US (Zinn being one of them I’m sure), only to have the US dealers write back sort…
I am deeply jealous. And who knows....maybe one day there will be a Baja class of Chevy Cavaliers or Ford Aspires.
We also have a 2CV like that in the collection. Forget driving a Ferrari or Lamborghini through downtown Nashville, you’ll get more stares and photo ops in this thing. Like the Chevette you mentioned, I always wonder why? Was someone bored? Thought it to be a challenge? I dunno.
Sans permis, or voiture sans permis. Cars that can be driven without licensure. Still a class of cars in France today.
That’s our 2005 Autocanoe: https://www.lanemotormuseum.org/collection/floating/item/autocanoe-2005
I know this is supposed to be annoying car dealer commercials, but this is the first thing I thought of. When I sold Nissans years ago, the guy that trained me was a big fan of these Johnson Kia/Badger ads. Every time he would sell a car, he would go “KaPowwiieee!” Excellent commercials, and true to life at most…
Gonna have to give Papa Van Twee props here.
As the youths say, YAASSSS!!
Thanks! This must be what winning the Oscars feels like, only more ludicrous.
That’s our 2012 Mia, a French electric car with F1-style center driving position. https://www.lanemotormuseum.org/collection/cars/item/mia-2012 It made a fantastic camera/chase car. I also use it to run errands.
This actually made me laugh out loud. Thank you good sir.
As Papa Van Twee stated below, its a 2012 French electric car known as the Mia. Middle driving position. Three seats. It made a GREAT camera car...Adam hung out the back while I drove. Maybe Jason will do a Drives episode on it someday.
Nope, chap’s name was Harry.
Two years ago, I spoke to the gentlemen who owned those two LARCs in Portsmouth. The city was wanting to clean up that area, and the LARCs were the last of the naval scrapyard that was there previously. We only needed the tires, yet he needed the entire LARC gone. He was very nice, but ultimately we found a set here…
