Now playing

All of their wealth is ill-gotten. Every last pence of it. I know that they don’t directly take public money anymore. However, they did amass the current wealth they have now via the public dime for centuries. They would never be as wealthy today if they hadn’t done that and dabbled in the slave and opioid trades.

On the other hand I wondered if I’d witness the fall of the US in my lifetime when I was a teen. In Europe we feel like we have front row seats to “the decline and decay of the overseas empire” :)

So, my hot take on the show? I don’t think it’s as bad as people say it is. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nowhere near as good as it used to be, and it still has a lot of problems and problematic elements, but the vitriol some people have for it is, I think, a bit overblown. I actually think the last few seasons have seen

If the public has been subsidizing your mass amounts of wealth for centuries, you can’t unilaterally decide that the allocation of that same wealth isn’t in the public interest.

Oh my god it’s distasteful? Are you sure?

They did it as it’s routine. The only change was giving an actual timescale rather than indefinite.

You should feel sorry for SMG.  Her lack of anything resembling a career post-Buffy speaks volumes.  She’s a bad actress who was lucky enough to find a role suited enough for her to squeak by in and has done almost nothing since due to her extremely limited abilities.

I love her for Buffy, and I know that Whedon’s a creep who we’re all supposed to hate now so “No credit to Joss Whedon is given here,” but you look at her career post-Buffy, and Whedon’s career beyond Buffy, and you can’t help but come away with the feeling that that dude played a symphony on a busted toy piano. Not a

It’s DEFINITELY not Sarah Michelle Gellar.  What a limited actress.  Sheesh.

Look, I have very strong opinions about which elite group of rich assholes has control over our culture

Except more than likely this info will go to that shift manager to resolve the situation (as well as others), I’d be surprised if the info went directly to the front line workers.

These restaurants aren’t doing this to make their employees’ lives hell, they’re doing it because the amount of time and resources spent fixing fuckups is more than the cost of installing cameras and software.

Let’s be real. There isn’t a single bit of Sha’Carri Richardson that is going to embrace humility. Not even humiliation. Especially when she’s rewarded for her attitude win or lose.

Pre-cana is mostly the church telling you to have children and don’t use birth control or have an abortion.

I’m not sure why you take issue with my post.
I called out a pretty specific sub-group of women with a pretty specific trait. I made room in my first paragraph for the original subject of the article and made known my agreement while offering a counterpoint.
I don’t think anything I said excludes or discounts the point

And I’m sure at no point throughout these women’s entire dating life did they EVER encounter a man who would be honored to be an equal partner in child care, housework, etc.

As a male who: works full-time, cooks just about each night, cleans the house, will help with laundry (though I really dislike folding), and takes out the trash/recycling, etc., etc.. (we do not have kids) I have to say that I find this comment section hilarious.

Exactly! A) A woman should never marry a man who hasn’t lived on his own before. B) A woman should not marry a man she hasn’t lived with. C) A woman shouldn’t expect a man’s ability to take care of himself to improve after marriage.

Some of it needs to be obvious to be recognized, but it’s often down to how men and women are socialized. Generally, we [men] are socialized so that we do “manly” chores while women do the rest. We’re not trained in basic skills such as meal preparation, laundry, dish cleaning, and general household cleaning. So when

I thought it was going to be a good hat.
