Legally, bicyclists are supposed to use hand signals, too.

Sure, it looks wacky now, but in addition to mimicking hand signals, it’s also patterned after the semaphores used by railroads back in the day.

Your question got me thinking and Googling. While it doesn’t directly answer your question, it turns out that suits for “breach of promise to marry” are possible in about half the states: http://nationalparalegal.edu/public_documen…

Sure. But why should they have to? Life is short.

1983 was the 80s one. I was a junior in college and spent the weekend drinking cheap wine and making chili. It was awesome.

“The main reason this has always been a hot topic in the US is because of religion, which forbids abortions.”

Neither did Reagan. It first showed after he was shot, according to those who were there.

On issues like Free Trade agreements Trump’s plan IS Bernie’s plan.

Depending on where “just north” is, can make a huge difference in winter weather. But yes, the rubber is formulated to stay grippier in cold weather; the tread patter is for traction in snow, slush and mud.

And before that, ‘82, ‘77, ‘47 and then a long interval until the great blizzard of 1888. I’m sure someone will post a reply if I’ve missed any....

“Driving is a privilege, not a right.” AFAIK they can’t arrest you for walking.

No. We don’t get blizzards annually in NYC. Typically, decades go by without anything this bad. But ... the climate appears to be changing.

They don’t because you can go years without this kind of blizzard. That said, the climate appears to be changing, so ... we’ll see.

The point is, you get those conditions every winter. Historically, decades might elapse between blizzards of this magnitude on the east coast. You spend the most money on the problems that are closest at hand.

(Sighs) Yeah, you’re right - it’s there now, but more subtle. Just having trouble with GM or VW using the word “conscience” in an ad.

A lot of them ditched their vehicles and hoofed it into the desert.

Can you imagine a modern day automaker boasting their workers have “conscience?”

The Hawk is gorgeous. Would take over an Avanti ... but would be torn.

Can you imagine any automaker today boasting their workers are “men of conscience and competence?”

Yup, remember that episode. My parents were super fundementalist, but we watched the Norman Lear comedies on Saturday night anyway.
