Okay

It’s by Disturbed. It is, by definition, a poorly done cover.

Yeah, he is far from alone in this.

Did you not read the author’s reasoning or are you being intentionally dense? He does indicate some objective (as possible) reasons for its inclusion on this list, namely the poor arrangement choices (again, this is a matter of taste), and the over-dramatic vocals.

Technical prowess does not necessarily a good song

Nah. I don’t care if Pavarotti loved it, it’s a crap remake. It’s so “look at me, I’m raging and full of pain” that it’s just ridiculous. A Monty Python level skit.

I grew up in a home with a classically-trained opera singer.

i don’t like it. i had enough overwrought power ballads in the 80s.

I love her videos, and enjoy what she’s had to say about a ton of songs, but sorry, a voice expert deeming someone’s singing technically accomplished is not really a clinching argument that automatically makes the cover good. In fact it’s the bombast and show-offy “vocal power lifter” aspect of the guys’ performance

Stop trying to pretend subjective opinions are actually objective. IDC what a pro opera singer/voice coach thinks, I still won’t like the song.

There’s not a lot, but at 1:07, “walked” has a clear artifact. There was another spot I caught, I forget where, but I think it was still in the softer section.

I wouldn’t call it one of the worst, but man, is it overrated. It doesn’t really suit the song, and the autotune is obvious several times.

This whole list is Brak erasure! I can just about accept that his show didn’t make the cut, and ‘Cartoon Planet’ could I GUESS dismissed as a re-conceptualized ‘Space Ghost’, but you’re not gonna even give him a shout out in the ‘Space Ghost’ section?

I think the Superman show was originally going to air on normal Cartoon Network as a part of their “whole-family-can-enjoy” thing called ACME Night. But, I don’t know how the decision was made to move it to adult swim.

Mission Hill was originally on the WB, but like many other shows like Futurama or Family Guy, it got a new life in re-runs on the block.

It’s one of the worst things to ever be on TV, period.

hot take: tim and eric shouldn’t even be on this list.

Oh no, it definitely got bad. There was build up to the byzantine Authority (the marvelous Nan Flanagan spoke of various factions within it) and it was like was like six annoying people in a room plus that bad wig Salome wore. Somebody on that show had a vendetta against Tara because year in and year out they just

Ah bummer I was hoping for a deep dive. My wife and I watched this show back in the day and have done at least 2 re-watches since 2020. It’s a fun summer show because it is very over the top ridiculous. I guess that works since it’s going for that Southern gothic horror vibe.

Aside from unlikeable protagonists, this show ran into the same issue so many vampire shows do - at the beginning, vampires are this giant organization, but by season 3 or 4 the head vampire in the world is dead and the organization turns out to have been 3 people.

This was a show that started out as a really fun guilty pleasure but eventually turned into a parody of it's self.
