I think the bigger story here is that 17% of people surveyed didn’t know that Tesla offered an EV.

Yes, Subaru suvs and crossovers are not fast by any means. The base engine in the Outback and Forester is a 2.5 L flat 4 with all of 170-180hp. The turbo 2.4L flat 4 ups the power to 240hp, so better, but not great.
My wife may be buying this in the next couple years to replace her Impreza. God those wheel arches are absolutely hideous though. If she gets this it’s going to a body shop immediately to fix them. I don’t care if it’s paint or wrap, they are getting color matched.
This is why so many EV/hybrid manufacturers use relatively small percentage of their batteries’ capacity. Regulating maximum discharge rates, not allowing the batteries to charge over 80% or discharge below 50% is how vehicles like Prii or older escape hybrids can achieve 300,000+ miles on the original powertrain…
Sure, yeah, people protesting for civil rights are totally the same thing as idiots who make their cars spin.

this needs way more stars. dang kids.
Here’s the article, which definitely does not conclude it would cost the equivalent of $9/gallon:
Remember the infamous study giving a Prius a higher lifecycle carbon figure than a Hummer? Among other things they severely underestimated the number of miles a Prius could rack up (which in taxi service can be interstellar) while overestimating the lifecycle mileage of the Hummer, basing it on a “hot-seated” fleet…
There is only one answer to this....
This also isn’t the first time this kind of data has been totally misleading or even downright false. A Tesla Model 3 gets about 4 miles per kWh on the highway. Superchargers, the most expensive way to recharge a Tesla, cost about $0.26 per kWh. So driving 100 miles would cost $6.50. At current gas prices of $3.40 per…
5th Gear (Electric cars are expensive):
My esteemed colleagues are all incorrect. The correct answer is obviously this Audi R8 because it has a manual AND a V10.
