Charging infrastructure should have zero to do with their decision. These things by definition park in depots at night. During the day, they make runs that are very, very rarely longer than 20-30 miles in a loop. And for those that are double-duty, taking sports/events teams, you can always keep a few gas burners…

As a person who has been somewhat neutral on trucks in general, there are more than a few Dodge Ram (usually) owners whose driving/life skills are so reprehensible and insane that it poisons the well.

Nobody was buying a 300ZX for the fuel economy—a gauge like this would be the kind of thing a 1980s Sentra buyer would want, not someone in a 280Z or 300ZX, right? Wouldn’t you want this on an economy car, where the owner would be most likely to really want to keep an eye on the dregs of a tank?

As a long-time owner of thirsty cars, I say target the fuel and not the cars. Those who consume the most should pay the most, and face the strongest incentives to buy fuel-efficient vehicles and drive in fuel-efficient ways.
