I get what you are saying about modern hardware being mechanically superior, with tighter tolerances and features. But, there is something very deeply satisfying about holding and actuating a mortise lock that weighs 15 lbs and feels like an old bank vault, was manufactured before my oldest grandparent and to be able

Here’s the dead wood it’s connected to. Quite proud of it. Enjoy

Pictures of before and after, in case you’re into old locks of the domestic variety.

On the 3-in-1 spray:

The Allante was WAY overpriced and either had an underpowered V8 (early models) or one of the worst engines ever produced by GM (Northstar).

Wouldn’t it be easy enough to run a quick report from vinfreecheck, vincheck.info or any one of the dozens of free reports to confirm mileage?

Yeah, this guy is really missing the true calling. Either get a used Avalon, Camry or Accord with an automatic and save on gas and maintenance. Or, if fun is a must accept that an SUV is the right size (especially if the carseats are still rear-facing). This is what you are looking for:

My order:

Can we all just take a minute to understand that Ferrari is dialing their car DOWN to 600 hp to make it more reasonable in its power output?  Nevermind the fact the 99% of the cars on the road (let alone supercars) are ever driven at or above 7/10ths of their capability (the other 1% is filled with Miatas, MG Midgets

Agreed. I was hoping for more details on the 800v architecture and how that impacts overall efficiency, or how wide tires impact rolling resistance. The high weight should only have a significant impact on city. Highway should be more impacted by rolling resistance, Cd, frontal area and drivetrain losses (motor

A 996 911 at this price is not worth buying. Any cars worth the money start at $20k for a stick, and the Tiptronic transmission is not worth it (the PDK was not launched until 2009 with the 997.2 and 987.2).

You can’t comp this to any other 1999 Boxster. The real comp is a 2000-2003 Boxster S. Considering the $1k (each) intake, exhaust and coilovers this thing is a bargain (as long as it is in good condition) and the dual row IMS is just the cherry on top. I would buy it and swap the wheels to 996 Turbo twist or 996.1

He is certainly the Kirchoff to Jesse’s Heisenberg

As I noted at the outset, these early C4s are, much like the 991 edition of Porsche’s 911, the redheaded stepchild of the model line.

If you go to the IIHS website you’ll see that auto on/off factors into the rating as well.

Much shorter than I expected, but I think there are a few things we need to consider when comparing the Model S to the Taycan:

And by “driving around in a tank carelessly” you mean occupying a Cybertruck in ‘autopilot’ while watching Dude Perfect YouTube videos, bro.

I went CP. The wheels are one of my least favorite (the RS Spyder, Sport Classic, Macan SportDesign and 911 Turbo Design are all much better looking). Also, while 62k on a 2015 model for a Crosstrek, CR-V or Rav4 may be low, for a Porsche that is higher mileage. Low-to-mid 30s would have gotten a NP from me.

That’s worth the trip right there.

I miss they days when everyone was entitled to their opinion, but that facts were facts.  Now everyone is entitled to their own reality.
