I don’t have room in my life for people with converted garages.

We’re just gonna keep seeing more like this as wealth disparity increases. On one hand you’ve got people who can’t afford a $2500 Craigslist beater to get to work, on the other you have people for whom there’s no practical difference between dropping $6k or $60k on whatever toy currently tickles their fancy.

Drift tax seems to only apply to S-chassis and RWD Corollas.  I don’t think you’ll see much of it on a Z.

I never understand why anyone buys a company that’s successful for creating/fitting a very specific niche, then proceeds to have them make products that are everything but that specific niche.

It’d be worth them buying out Mitsubishi just so they could call it the Zero.

I like how their IFS diagram shows some ancient swing-axle design, like it’s a old Corvair.

GM seems pretty content to sit this one out.

Looks like the old Dodge cruciform grill.

For me it’s not a matter of the TV not having enough inputs, it’s that the TV is mounted on the wall and I want as few cables going to it as possible.

Well, let’s remember our weight reduction math. Not all weight is equal; sprung weight is better than unsprung weight; static weight is better than rotating weight which is better than reciprocating weight. Wheels are both unsprung and rotating which means they’re one of the best places to remove weight.

See, that’s the secret. Every Mustang that’s gone into a crowd? They were all pushed by a Tacoma!

Do you happen to have the numbers you used?

Wouldn’t a better measure of efficiency be distance traveled vs battery size?

Crackity crack crack crack crack crackity crack. It’s an auto, N/A Z32. It’s my least favorite Z in my least favorite configuration in my least favorite condition. At most I’d drop $500 and try to clean it up flip it to some 16 year old.

Wha-huh? Hybridization is useless on the highway; you get no advantage from the electric assist, and you see that in the EPA numbers. Hybrids do no better in highway mileage than comparable ICE cars. Where hybridization gives advantage is in frequent stop/starts and low speed movement, again demonstrated through

I disagree. The i8 was a first attempt at bringing performance-adding hybridization down from hypercar territory. They’re sub-3300 lbs with a 0-60 in the low 4s and while I haven’t had the pleasure of driving one, Chris Harris had mostly positive things to say about it. Was it worth what BMW asked? Not to most people,

I agree. Hybrids make way more sense to me in pickups than cars. The extra weight is less of a penalty, the added mileage is much more impactful to actual fuel consumption, and the added torque off-the-line is a huge benefit to towing and hauling.

It always better to be lighter, but the penalty for weight really depends on what kind of off-roading you’re talking about. There’s also the advantage of being able to add that weight exactly where it’s most beneficial, which could give lower CoG and will almost certainly give better balance.

I think that with the

I’m not a Dodge guy, but competition for the Raptor is only going to make it better.

Now what would be real interesting is to see someone bring a hybrid into this segment. We need more cars than the trio of hypercars and the BMW i8 that show the added performance that a hybrid can offer.

When did NPOCP become NPOND?
