The people's cars from depression and post-war Europe are likely candidates, the Fiat 500 Topolino (1936-55) and the Citroen 2CV (1949-90), but damn if I can find any *new* price figures yet...

It's like the cheap knock-off Swiss army knife of tools, and exactly the kind of thing I wish I kept in my car the first time I visited my daughter's college apartment. I've since assembled a tool tote for the visits, but @ $30 from Harbor Freight, this is cheaper and easier.
