It literally was an intentional Nazi salute dumbass.

Watch the video, I didn’t think it was bad in the screen shot, but the video seems pretty obvious he was doing it then laughing after.

You’re correct on the fuel economy (ignoring the diesel as we never officially got it) but not so much on safety. While I’ve never crashed any of mine, there are plenty of documented real-world crashes out there that show that the cars are about as safe as advertised.

Seriously?!?

They painted them mostly white to avoid that.

Correct. The truth was that Hyundai and Kia both had too much ceremony around their full-size sedans. They were primarily designed for the Korean market. The problem was that they tried too hard to emulate actual luxury cars. And here in the ‘States, you needed to have really good styling (i.e. Chrysler 300) in order

Not is was not. It was poorly made to impress with poor materials and tech, it depreciated like no German super sedan can even dream of, it was unsafe, dated and ugly.

No chance?  He works for the city.  There’s probably a picture of the councilmember in their building, and I’m guessing they get updates on council decisions on the regular.  With photos.  I’d say there’s a better than even chance that once the councilmember triggered his memory by asking him if he knew who he was, he

Wow, the rare instance of “Do you know who I am?” being used to a positive effect!

Cars 2 is basically the plot of Quantum of Solace.

Since all the tectonic plates float on magma, we all live on boats too and are not subject property tax.

I am pretty disappointed they didn’t give any credits/cars or at the very least roulette tickets for this outage. I only get about 1 hour a day to play and was locked out last night. Even woke up an hour early today because one of the children was crying, tried to get my missed time from last night in and still

The saddest part is just that wearing seatbelts could have likely prevented many of the fatalities. Even in the backseat, it should be automatic to buckle up every time. It’s ridiculous that this is still a conversation that needs to happen.

Best guess is that since it’s West Texas and the age of the adult, it’s one of those times where he fondly remembered his Grandpappy letting him drive when no one or very little people were on the road as a kid and was allowing this one to have that same memory. This happens in the South all the time, not so much

But it could well be a rotted, under-inflated 15-year-old tire that could not survive rolling down the highway.

Full size spares on trucks are normal tires with normal speed ratings, not space savers with low limits.

“Ah, crap. I’m an idiot! Man, I left my drivers license at home. Can I just sign these now and I’ll bring by my license tomorrow? Ah, good. Thanks.”

And now he’s going to have to take the heat.

Nothing ever sticks to these guys though. It’s like they’re coated in teflon..
