The Sugarcubes were a revelation to 13 (or so) year old me when I first encountered them! (let’s just say that was more than 25 years ago, she’s still incredible)

Amazing. I just finished watching this and I’m off to find more.

I’ve watched that very documentary twice.

The problem is that being truly progressive, tolerant and liberal is not supposed to be easy. Once you compromise, they win.

And maybe engage in a few scare tactics like they do. Republicans try to convince voters that liberals are coming for their guns? You tell them that Republicans are coming for their health care, their pensions, and their social security. They’re against a fair pay for a day’s work. They’re protecting the companies

Yeah, nothing better than abandoning our principles for political victories! No way that will lead to more underhanded people entering the democratic party and trying to develop power for themselves while also souring our political message!

That’s the thing that pisses me off about the Democrats, they always try to play nice. They keep trying to find common ground and listen. They’re dealing with children. They have to stop being nice and kowtowing to these fucking pissbaby toddlers.

“But we kept the trannies out of the ladies bathroom!”

White Man Rule No. 4: If you can’t have something, ruin it for everyone else.

You mean those evil racists are also lying power hungry hypocrites that don’t use their office to serve the people but to enrich themselves and amass power?

Interesting takeaway from this election cycle: Turns out that the GOP, the party that routinely wraps itself in the American flag and the Constitution, not really all that interested in democracy.

It’s unfortunate that the world lost Sager, but I don’t feel sadness. Does that make me a dick? I’m glad he’s not suffering anymore, I’m glad he’s not in pain. That interview he did a few months back was sad as hell to me, and he still managed to shine brightly, which is a testament to the man he was; but I’m glad

It’s irrelevant whether this is a good or bad appointment. Sally Jewell has done a fine job, but if Obama let Malia make that decision based on her own personal interests, then the process is fucked and our democracy meaningless.

Prior to the election it was well known that I have interests in properties all over the world.Only the crooked media makes this a big deal!

Why stop at the states? Let’s turn over control of our national parks, wildernesses and monuments to local school boards packed with pissant fundies with persecution complexes.

Is it even a hot take anymore to say that Gregg Popovich would make an infinitely better president than Donald Trump? Shit’s insane. I love this man. I say this as someone who rooted against the Spurs and their boring cold grip on championships for many years. The man just always Gets It.

I don’t know if Gregg Popovich is a national treasure, but Nic Cage did steal the Declaration of Independence once because there was a coded map to Pop’s house on the back.

Which is all well and good BUT the precedent being set here is far more important?

It makes me happy to see shit like this, but let’s be honest, Spanos will just take his team and get his free money elsewhere, all the while giving the finger to San Diego...
