No joke, they are bullshit. I worked so so hard to finish my dissertation, I don’t want to see a degree given to Kermit the Frog. Luckily my school didn’t give any bullshit celebrity honorary degrees away the year I got my hard-earned piece of paper.

Well, there are times where honrary degrees are given to a person who attended the University, but for whatever reason, was unable to finish their degree. There’s many examples due to military drafts, outright discrimination from the university/state/government, or personal issues that prevented the continuance.

However…

As someone who is desperately trying to figure out how to afford to get a college education I would just like to say-

A piece of paper that means a college administration wanted to kiss your ass in the hopes of getting a donation or free publicity.

I think men winking at women in serious or professional environments is pure sexist condescension. Especially when they’re mansplaining something when they do it.

Yup, a select commuttee would be a circus, but it’s exactly the thing he needs to do to pass a budget and give the rabid ones a shiny object to pass the time so they don’t notice actual work being done.
