I said it way back in 2018 when Splinter News was still a thing and we just learned about the Daniels payments—-he’s never going to jail no matter what he does.

Only imbeciles thought Trump was in danger of consequences.
Well, the media (and us, by extension) keep falling for it, don’t they? “Ooh, they’ve really got him now! He’s gonna have to face the music this time!” It’s what they were all saying after Muller, after the first impeachment, the second one, the insurrection hearings, each of the four insurrections, and now this…
I don’t know who came up with the idea of doing a 5-10 second teaser before the teaser, but it’s so fucking stupid. Like I obviously hit play, have faith that I will watch the 1:30 second video.
This article is next to “rich people problems” in the dictionary.
Oh this is the winner. It barely has any nods to previous films in the series and frankly its the best one overall.
I mean, what you’re describing is a character arc. He started off that way and it’s still showing glimmers, but the entire point of the book (and series) is that, over time, he slowly sheds that arrogance and appreciates, respects, and participates in that culture and society.
If John Blackthorne, 1600s English pilot,…
That is a really bad description. Hes not inherently buffoonish or dumb-the original series makes a big point about how intelligent, principled and brave he is-most people dropped into a foreign country with no knowledge at all of the language or customs wouldve done a lot worse.
This guy:
It always sorta seemed like this was a good franchisable concept- they bust ghosts, so every movie they just fight a different kind of supernatural beastie, yeah?
Good think Gregory Peck is dead or else people would be mistakenly sending him abuse too.
“‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire’: By all reasonable definitions, this qualifies as a movie.”
Genius, there’s a difference between making movies that are different plots and ideas than the first movie, and making movies that are a completely different tone and genre from the first movie. Did you notice how Godfather Part II is not a space opera?
Finally just watched Afterlife. It was... fine. Incredibly slow. Could have cut like 20 minutes out of the first hour, easily. Once it got to about the 1 hour 15 minute mark, things started to get interesting, and the last 45 minutes were pretty solid. Good enough to make me interested in this new one.
None of the jokes in the trailer are “particularly funny,” but to Death’s point, the trailer has plenty of humor (which isn’t inherently the same as jokes). Even if someone watching this trailer for the first time didn’t know any of the cast members, between the humor, the upbeat music cues, and a few goofy sound…
These last two movies seem like the most egregious case of the nostalgia porn trend. Ghostbusters was not a touchy-feely family drama that should be bringing anyone to tears. It’s a pretty cynical comedy movie.
WHY ARE YOU YELLING
They’ve taken over the old fire station that used to house those old Ghostbusters.
NO. THE OG TRAILER HAD PLENTY OF HUMOR IN IT.
Plus it possible they moved on to the next place. I don’t everyone gets turned into ghosts.
