Not sure what you’re quoting there, but the article mentions V8 availability several times and I actually went into the configurator which allowed me to select a V8 engine for $3,295.
I examined it frame by frame as you did and it’s clear the bmw is crossing leftward into the tesla’s lane when his back end is lined up behind the tesla side mirror. To declare that the tesla’s maneuver was unnecessary is way premature. The only problem is that there’s no isolated camera view of the action near the…
I honestly cannot discern what you’re trying to say here. Delete and try again.
Utter nonsense - he was still going faster than the surrounding traffic and CLEARLY gaining on the black car ahead. At a not unreasonable rate.
Would they though? The subreddit r/idiotsincars has plenty of examples of this exact scenario ending poorly. If I’m on cruise control passing in the left lane I won’t be shifting lanes in inconvenient places every time some dumbass rides my ass like this. The bmw would have come from a long ways back. I don’t know…
This is the correct analysis.
I think that part of this is that - through experience - humans have learned to pick out signs of a bad/aggressive driver. If I see a moron driving like that rushing up on me, I’d probably move out of the lane
A human driver (assuming they are paying attention) probably would have noticed the BMW flying up behind it and
It’s almost like some of you people have never driven before in your entire lives. A normal driver would see the BMW? Are you joking? Literally everyday 75% of the people I see driving are so blissfully ignorant of the world around them that this couldn’t possibly be true. Also even the best driver isn’t seeing…
Correct analysis.
^^This is passing normally. The bmw driver seems to have come up a bit fast but ultimately made a safe transition to pass. Then this happens:
It only seems logical that if the headline of the post calls out something, that the picture of that something would be in the post. But then again, this is Jalopnik, one really can’t have high expectations.
In case anyone wants to actually see the cool tires mentioned in the headline without going on a fucking goose chase:
Kind of a Misleading name if it doesn’t have the Solar panel. Its nothing but a big battery, which may have its use cases, but is 100% not SOLAR.

Wait...for decades of combustion-powered automobiles, 0-60 times were everything. It’s the primary stat the entire automotive publishing industry was built upon. But with battery-powered cars we’re now suddenly not supposed to care?
It’s hard to get excited about unions when unions have consistently shown to be greedy, corrupt organizations themselves, whose primary interest is self-perpetuation.
because the unions know better than those stupid little employees so it’s only fair that the union comes in and takes a cut of their paycheck to “take care of them”
This is great for people who are satisfied by it, but some may also want things like modern fuel economy and crash safety. Or interior comfort features that are up to modern standards. Or even a new car warranty.
Longroof? Is this the same as the Squareback?
