A stretch of cowboy country with a bunch of holes punched into the ground, with Dalton standing over them with a leer on his face.

And we can agree to disagree. But name one other nation's pop culture that mainstream Americans consume more of other than Japan or the UK.
My sentence means exactly that - in the West, we made Japanese media part of our mainstream cultural consciousness. As a result, we see far more Japanese media in America than we do of any other Asian nation (more than any non-American nation, with the possible exception of the UK).
I don't think the Japanese can or should be singled out for cultural appropriation. The US and South Korea are just as egregious, and they are far from the only examples. I think in the West, we mainstreamed Japanese media, so we just see more of it.
Looks like they're skipping the rest of Larsson's books and going straight to Lagercrantz's The Girl In The Spider's Web.
Imitating other cultures and adding their own elements isn't a uniquely Japanese thing (in fact, it's a worldwide thing - MMA, anybody?), but your point is taken.
Well duh.
I have gone too long without seeing Keri Russell look awesome in wigs.
I wanted to show up at my town hall meeting with a rail but was voted down.
When I'm having a shitty day, I'll just put on the "Scraps" playlist or the Tim Olyphant interviews. Conan is best when he's at his most casual, never fails to make me smile.
I, too, miss Tremain's art. But Sarin has been doing a great job. I think both artists really understand the weird, frenetic energy of Allison's writing. It almost feels like he lays out each issue.
I want to read this article, but about halfway through, I noticed that there were more and more frames and pages being shared, and I JUST CAN'T DO IT.
I know Jack wasn't an integral part of pre-52, but he remains my favorite "Big 2" character. I would just hate for his storyline to simply be retconned away from the continuity.
i don't ever want a universe where Jack Knight wasn't Starman. That run remains my favorite mainstream comic of all time.
Ben Folds is regular guy from North Carolina who plays piano and smokes a pretty decent pork shoulder and also drives around LA with his piano in the truck in case he has to suddenly play a funeral.
At least twice an episode, I flash back to Raylan in Gary's office: "Is it REAL-tor or re-LA-tor?"
Gen-X, can I get a collective, "What the fuck happened to Victoria Jackson?"
The only Archie comic I've read that I remember is Archie vs. Predator, which is honestly one of the goriest comics I've ever read. Characters like Sabrina get their spines literally ripped out of their bodies.
