I used to work near a mid-size regional airport. There were nearly always at least 4-5 guys sitting around, watching the runways, listening to radio chatter and taking pictures of every single takeoff and landing then excitedly discussing the plane, what kind of load it had, what the pilot did during the event etc.

On the left hand side of the station (facing outward), there is someone who makes take off and landing animations every time a ship comes in and leaves. I can verify he’s there at korvax systems and BOY does he love his job!
