Before CarFax, this would have been an excellent candidate for an odometer rollback.

Such a pleasure reading Ken’s articles with such masterful photography. Always a highlight.

I pre-paid for a Metacycle so it’s always nice to get more news. 12 mi/kWh is in the ballpark of what my li’l Zero XU does in similar conditions, with similar power and weight.

I sell Zeros (Another electric motorbike maker). Reliability tends to be a non-concern for electrics. They’re removing many of the “What could go wrong?” variables from your bike in fact.

When the buzzbomb bikes start getting smoked by dead silent stealth bikes the nights around here will be so much nicer.

Put this in a Grom, you cowards!

I’ll wear that flamesuit with you. I enjoy the Hayabusa’s looks — it’s Suzuki proving that fast doesn’t have to look angry — but otherwise they don’t do much for me. I was hoping the new one had something really cool going for it..

Hayabusa.

EV school buses are a fantastic idea. I even think they are the best application for current EV technology. However, the big problem goes right back to how underfunded so many schools are.

The public school system really needs better funding.

All of the arguments against this can be countered with “the public school system should be better funded.”

Charging infrastructure should have zero to do with their decision. These things by definition park in depots at night. During the day, they make runs that are very, very rarely longer than 20-30 miles in a loop. And for those that are double-duty, taking sports/events teams, you can always keep a few gas burners

School Busses should be 100% electric.

User name checking in. :-)

I won’t argue that Spaceballs references aren’t childish, but I like them. It’s really the only thing Musk does that I enjoy. He’s really piggybacking on the goodwill Mel Brooks earned, but I like Spaceballs, so references to Spaceballs make me smile.

This will help level the playing field after 100+ years of government subsidies for oil companies.

Good, it will be a good jump start to adoption and the bigger issue, charging network.

That's pretty cynical. It's time for a big project, like going to the moon, the new deal, or manhattan project. It can be done.

If anything the timeline seems long. Why not 5 years? Then target every rest area on every interstate that has enough power for it nearby. Convert the existing parking to parking with charging.

My brain could hold useful information but now it just has minutia about a golf cart for elderly Chinese people.
