How does a person get to the point where they lie this blatantly and publicly? How does one think there will be no negative repercussions? I’ve kind of known one or two people like this and it’s no less a mystery to me for having spent time with them.

I agree. And it goes beyond food into entertainment. 

I think a lot of us got sucked in to the idea that “cool” was defined by not liking stuff rather than just enjoying life where we were at and finding the good where we could. Now that I look back at doing it for kind of a long time, I think to myself, “what a dumb way to live.”

Makes me want to dive into what drives the reported lack of “qualified workers,” be it a lack of interest in the industry, education and training not meeting market needs, or in some (if not many) cases, the business’ reputation limiting their applicant flow to last-choice workers.
