He was a king and this is exciting! I’m getting curious about his joke-honing process now.

Good plan! Share the fries so everyone walks away with one or two bites and enjoys themselves. Group dining as a salvific enterprise...for the fries, at least.
Sounds like you’re the friend people like me need when we order loaded fries. I’d have one or two bites I could actually enjoy, you’d finish it off and probably enjoy it more. Win-win? Or are you more just the type that’d rather regret the eating but finish what you’ve paid for? Either way, rare and potentially…
I spend a little longer thinking about the order of operations to avoid the hassle of having some accuser with a cell phone camera jump out from behind a crossover to accost me about it more than I see any reasonable danger for my kids if I get the order wrong between loading the crap I bought, cart return, and child…
Fear is not bad; it is a good and necessary response to danger. You just have to use some reason to figure out why you’re feeling the fear and determine if it’s appropriate or not. The problem with the overbearing safety culture is that it stirs unreasonable fear; it’s a public phobia machine. I’m not saying it’s…
Any kind of loaded fries, it’s always the same story:
Now I want to hear her do a full acoustic version of that Tool song.
The important thing here is that the Central Coast has been revealed as the true California. #tritip #strawberries #skateboarding #weirdalwenttocalpolysanluisobispo #vafb #805 #santabarbaraisoktooiguess
I can’t help but wonder if this is related to your other article about POTUS pardoning people...and if it is, what a weird world.
Apparently so!
They literally titled the articles after the Google searches they did when they first heard the story, but when they saw TMZ had more info on Bourdain’s family than them, they started panicking. They threw in names, ages, and “Chef Found Dead at 61" because that’s the text that would show up in a real article . . .…
I’d eat it.
Living in the DFW Metroplex, I would concur. Individual experiences will vary of course, especially due to toll roads all over and almost exclusively paid parking downtown. But otherwise gas is less expensive relative to other areas and required yearly vehicle inspections have a fixed cost. The cost of vehicle…
Opting in to a lower-tier health insurance plan for my healthy family:
Good grief this is shameful. He didn’t pose any physical threat. Even if in some way they could justify an arrest, he was defenseless once he was surrounded. It took all of them holding him and beating him to subdue him? And face shots? How was that necessary? All those trained police, not one knows how to grab a guy…
If I may ask, are you describing a hypothetical, someone you know other than yourself, or your own personal experience?
Would it be the wrong move to ask them directly about it before going to management? On the one hand, I think directness is better. On the other hand, it might avoid some otherwise unnecessary confrontation to go to the wait staff/management first, especially since it’s their responsibility to maintain their business.
First off, please note my comment is a summary of another comment. I’m not necessarily disagreeing, but the reason for my using those terms might not be exactly what you picked up from reading it.
The Jaws and Halloween comparisons make me think about how little is onscreen vs off-screen though. The whole quote basically says his goal is a stand-alone story that slowly reveals parts of the world to the viewer, but it’s essentially about setting a mood. It honestly sounds to me like he’s not making a “comic book…
I don’t think she’s arguing that white people are incapable and unwilling to do any good in all circumstances, nor that non-white people are always good. I think she’s arguing that historically speaking in the US, white people have had a position of privilege over black people. This is a position that in ways both…
