Unwilling, they were unwilling, to go after thieves, because they only wanted guaranteed slamdunks and not to have to use the myriad other offenses and powers open to them.

this is the correct response to this article. you absolutely can use hot water on your windshield to help clear ice. you absolutely can not use boiling water to do it.

a bottle of warm water clears your windscreen safely in seconds (been doing it for 40yrs).

Harris has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder and a few other gun charges, The Banner reports. Because he’s under 21 years old, he cannot legally own a handgun.

It’s more like republicans would prefer to not be punished because other people are criminals. A gun is an inanimate object, and what does some guy in Baltimore shooting and killing someone else have to do with me in here in Virginia?

Leftists would rather protect black male animals than live in our reality where 4.5% of the US population commits most of it’s murder and violent crimes.

Why do you even work at Jalopnik?

I come here to read stuff about cars.  Not politics.  There’s a lot of us that are just fed up with ALL American politicians.  Can you focus on automotive content?

Slate is so good at clickbait outrage articles, they even spill over to other sites.

There are a few things to unpack here

The shame is when the Jalopnik writer either doesn’t get it, or has a hard time articulating it. High gears on a bike don’t make pedaling easier, they make the bike go faster on flat ground. Pedal up a hill in high gear and you know what happens in an engine when you lug it. I read the Slate article and the 8-speed

Super ironic that you guys have (had?) a dunce on staff who suddenly appeared after being disgraced elsewhere who does nothing but post fast, stupid tawt taeks on random shit like this.

I saw the article. And I immediately thought how that news-ish/whiny East cost liberal finger-pointing site was barking up the wrong tree like what you wrote—many gears keep you right in the sweet spot of torque band—duh.

Jalopnik used to be “drive free or die” and has turned into “I agree with the thrust of it, that most people should not be driving cars, let alone very fast cars on public roads.”

I really hope this is the next bankrupt Gawker property after Deadspin gets sued out of existence for their latest screwup.

As a semi-regular reader of Slate, I sometimes get the impression they employ writers whose second major (after journalism) was political science or sociology. It doesn’t surprise me that the writer is ignorant about how a car works since their primary experience with automobiles is probably Lyft or Uber.

Bentley needs to be more like Koenigsegg and build a car that’s so slow it only needs a one-speed transmission. Very irresponsible.

Unions are a cancer.  They benefit a small group of people at the expense of the society they extort.

It seems pretty dodgy to me that a company can’t get official government correspondence because of a worker strike at a firm hired to do it.  What if you missed a court summons because of a mail worker strike?

How did it look like that when you have a 1-second clip of that tractor driving before seeing it flipped over?

So all of the people on the Jalopnik / G/O Media boards who constantly whine about police brutality are totally cool with this guy being flipped over in a tractor which is clearly not crash rated for roll-overs?

Oh, wait, it fits with their personal political viewpoints so in this case the police brutality is okay
