Cool concept. The engine sound is part of the F1 experience and in this case it is a bit underwhelming but it only spins at half the rpm of the car’s original engine, probably so it can last the claimed 3000 km.
I like the idea of a small, nimble and affordable electric sports car. However, part of the Miata’s equation are the slick manual transmission and light weight. Now, we recently saw an electric Mustang with a manual transmission, and while it sounds good in theory, I’m not sure how well that would work in a Miata.
The 300,000 lbs towing capacity that Musk mentioned might not be the same as a 300,000 lbs tow rating. For example a Tundra towed the Space Shuttle which amounted to almost 300,000 lbs:

First ever COTD, thank you!
At 1:08, there is a setting on the Tesla that says “Range mode” and seems to be turned on. Does that affect performance?
All the French cars I’ve had/driven had excellent suspension, they managed to combine ride comfort and handling beautifully.
This is great, if it also has some towing capacity for a small-ish trailer say up to 2000-2500 lbs, I’d seriously consider buying it but it probably won’t be sold in the US.
