Since the plan is to go for a lighter tone in S4, I kind of hope Slade gets at least one scene with the Flash. Or even just a reaction shot to learning about this skinny kid darting around at inhuman speeds. It could be so fun.

It was such a weird gripe — he didn’t think Arrow should have defeated Deathstroke on the series called Arrow? — that I can only guess he was having a crap day. I don’t know. I’ve just been a little bummed since reading that at the suggestion he didn’t want to return. I’m glad we’re not losing Deathstroke.

He is obviously fine with returning as Slade Wilson. When he was asked around his S3 appearance last year about Slade as a recurring villain, he gave that kind of strange and sour answer. I’m glad he’s willing to come back, though.

That’s only if they’re narrated by David Attenborough.

Starred for the delightful title.

This looks fun, but my god I’m ancient. I was thrown out of it with the thought ‘wait, she’s old enough for sexy kissing now?’ One moment whilst I fetch my strand of clutching pearls.

Guy Gardener would be fantastic since he would annoy both Oliver and Barry. He would annoy everyone, in fact. It would be so fun. If I can’t have John Stewart Diggle (*sob*), the asstastic Guy is my next choice.

You’ve gone from being in the greys in this convo to spontaneously being in the black. That’s so Kinja. I hope you’ll get whatever follow you need to stay in the black.

There is a wonderful word that was created to (jokingly) describe when a character’s name had clearly been a form of predestination. I have been trying to remember it for a week now. Can anyone help me with this?

Bewildered, not offended. And I thought you had made it out of the greys on the main io9 site. Is today a hiccough or was I mistaken in thinking you had finally been followed?

I do know this, yes. The interview appeared after that ep. His attitude was that would be his last appearance. Good grief. Go take it up with Manu.

No idea what arc he had in mind. He didn’t specify anything beyond protesting that Oliver shouldn’t have been able to defeat Slade. I just remember the grump-assery and wondering what he thought would happen as a villain in this series.

He was the one griping about it. I just thought it was a combo of funny and ridiculous that he would be offended that his comic book villain would be defeated by the comic book hero in the latter’s eponymous series. (I think he even crabbed about the de-powering.) I’m glad he didn’t stay sulky about it and that

He had previously grumped about not wanting to return as Slade Wilson. He didn’t like that Oliver alone could defeat the character when the entire Justice League had been needed to take down Deathstroke. I’m glad he reconsidered.

That Coast City travel slogan is perfect.

Good point. I had optimistically wondered if that dude hadn’t had his first ever encounter with experiencing shame after being reported on writing that script involving giant dildos, small people, and the rest of the stuff my brain us mercifully repressing. I struggled to reconcile him being able to feel shame with

I liked it because it was so clearly his style, which I think is fair to describe at least in part as ‘casually appalling’.

I admit I did not look to see who authored this before I started reading. As soon as I hit ‘At any rate, dogs eat feces’, I thought ‘Oh, must be Bricken.’

I’d like to see it come from a place of dealing with Eddie’s sacrifice. I could buy Iris growing from that into a leader. If they point to her having watched her dad having done something similar (even if only in Iris’ eyes) after her mom died, this new role becomes even more plausible. Bonus if they find a way to tie

I for-real laughed when I saw Justice Kagan would be hearing this case. Kagan is a justice who actually supports just action, so Davis is pretty much boned as far as getting the SCOTUS further involved.
