40-60fps is playable, it’s the huge framerate drops and occasional crashes that are more the worry.  Dark Souls fans still give Blight Town crap due to the technical issues that were once common with it.

Asking all publishers to use Steam is also asking every publisher to give 30% of their PC revenue to Valve. It’s not like Valve is going to take that 30% to make a better product or even a game for that matter.
