I got something similar for my MIL’s car when she got Progressive car insurance. Supposedly it can tell if you are a “good driver” and lower your rate accordingly. It beeps at you once, twice or three times to indicate bad driving habits. By my estimation it gauges your driving through one method. How hard you stop.

Bullies never comprehend their behavior and are always shocked when they become targeted for their snotty actions.

Escalona’s behavior sounds like extortion.

According to Escalona, he and his wife were even kicked out of a restaurant in Madrid because the manager didn’t want “undesirables.”

When there’s no consequences, are you surprised?

There is no bottom to his evil.

Y’all have predicted 12 of the 0 sub prime auto crisis over the past 7 or so years. Seriously, here’s an article I found, from all the way back in 2015: https://jalopnik.com/equifax-denies-sub-prime-loan-bubble-says-loans-improv-1686526590

Well, now we know what the next GOP talking point is going to be:

Ah yes, more folks are working and have a bit more money than they have in 30+ years so now inflation is our fault. Not the price gouging and stock buy backs, or the PPP loan forgiveness, it’s the regular folks who’ve been scraping by for decades.

Unless it was personal, I don’t think there’s any other explanation; either this was explicitly encouraged or the employees had some sort of incentive structure that encouraged it. Either way, it’s the dealer’s fault.

His statements convinced me that this is who they are and it was dealership policy, should do an audit on how many cars brought in for inspection had to have “needed repairs”. Probably a high #. I recall years ago we took a car into have it smogged, I had just tuned it up with new parts, the forced us to pay for a

“But some of my best friends are brake pads!"

Sounds to me like this is a business practice and these two were paid off by the dealership.

That is not who we are.

Fabricating failures will happen when you have compulsory inspections done by people whos paycheck is dependent upon commissions from customers failing said inspection. The state should have fixed rate semi-retired people doing the inspections who are unaffiliated with any repair facility to negate this.

So the dealership is stating no one did but their employees fessed up?

Conroy also told a great story (it was on the DVD commentary of the Batman: Gotham Knight anime anthology) about volunteering to help out after the 9/11 attacks. They had him working in a kitchen (“I’m an actor, of course I have foodservice experience”) and eventually one of his co-workers recognized his name. That guy

Been a fan of Conroy for decades, but had no idea about his life. This is powerful stuff, and adds another dimension to Batman that I’ve never considered.

He’s the (Bat)man

Bless him for this touching, and somber reflection. Hope the homophobic DC fans can learn from this and be better people.
