Some chargers do not have the output for fast charging, also some cables either could not support that output, or were damaged over time so they do not support the output any longer. Check your original charger, it should have an output, like 5.0V/2.0.A. Usually, you will want a replacement charger and the cable used

It’s possible that cord is worn, reducing it’s effectiveness, but it may be a different type. This article goes into more detail on it.
