The 2WD used that front suspension right to the bitter end. I autocrossed an ‘03 for years and used a lot of metric (G-body) stock car parts on it.

The “torque monster” diesel has the same peak torque as the 4.3, Just saying.

m950 FTW! I just built a ‘95 Trek Y33 and could finally afford all of the old XTR bits that used to be out of reach when I was young and they were new. I was not disappointed - the shifting is flawless, so much better than any of the 9 or 10 speed builds I’ve done!

CP for anything with a dash mat, regardless of price.

Unmolested, manual, performance-optioned C4's won’t be this cheap for much longer. NP in my opinion.

The front bumper cover/fog lights and HIDs made it to production on the 1998-2000 Envoys. The turbo manifolds and most of the exhaust from the Sy/Ty’s bolts right up to the later Vortec 4.3's in the second gens. It would have been mostly a parts bin (and fueling/tuning) exercise to make this happen.

It’s good to see everything is back to normal after a brief, non-Jeep-related cooking video.

The seats were Recaros, but only labelled on the frame inside IIRC. I pulled a set at a wreckers without turning a wrench - I literally just pulled and the floor came with them. Some were lost to rust, not rice.

Stigma’ was a poor choice of words - a caddy just garners more attention. Used gen 1 CTS-Vs were also more expensive than G8s when I was in the market.

Right next to my 4th gen firebird (formula)!

My G8 GT was cheap, it comfortably holds 2 car seats and a pile of gear, it’s RWD, has ~400 hp, and doesn’t have the stigma of driving a caddy or the repair bills of a BMW.

A star for finding an opportunity to use ‘codpiece’

They couldn’t squeeze another 8 HP out of it?

My 77 year old neighbor has a red ‘99 Cobra ‘vert that’s equally pristine. It sounds great too

Methanol injection is installed, but not hooked up. You could do so should you want to get all Mad Max on somebody or perhaps really need to see firsthand what a rod through the block looks like.

I hunted for a good one of these for a long time before I eventually gave up and bought an F-body (which happens to be a great auto-x ride...)

Specially upfitted, but still sagging... They couldn’t afford helper springs?

That’s how I did it with measly 33's on my ‘84 (until the pinion broke).

My ‘95 6 speed Formula was $4K Canadian. 2 years and ~30 auto-X events later a new clutch was $700 (done at a shop).
