I liked Mount & Blade, crap graphics and all.

The low-budget aesthetic is half the fun of Killjoys. It’s got that “produced for syndication” look that just fits the tone of the show so well.
This seems pretty plausible, honestly- but what I think Blomkamp forgets is that blending two extremely different tones into a single tone results in either an incoherent mess, or a muddled streak of brown. Chappie was a little bit of both.
You’re not wrong.
I’ll say this: Irishness is a pretty big part of Commissioner Gordon’s character. It’s not really a part of Babs, though. What’s interesting is that the Irishness of Gordon was, in its time period, its own sort of “othering”, an indicator of both our relationship to the police (negative), the class of the Irish (low).
They own specific attributes associated with the modern incarnations, certainly. They certainly don’t own the idea of an ancient mummy returning from the dead in modern-day London.
I mean, Action Movie With Supernatural Villain is hardly doing something “new” with the property. Honestly, the trailers for The Mummy feel like I’ve seen that movie a dozen times already. More than that, none of the successive iterations of mummy-themed horror movies have really captured the creeping dread of the…
I think the important thing to remember about Loki is that most of the written myths about Loki were written down by Christian Monks as the Nordic tribes were becoming Christian. The Christian Monks almost certainly put their own spin on the myths, and made Loki into a darker figure, and basically decided, “Yep, he’s…
Hell, I’d kill to be as weird as Crispin Glover, regardless of how I looked.
If you blast some EDM during the giant lightsaber battles, it’s sorta like being at a crappy rave.
She’s basically the one competent person in the universe. Team her up with Captain Cold, and shit would seriously get done.
Wait, there was a Witchblade movie? I just remember the TV show.
I love Strange Days, but… it’s so 90s. That said, its overt Rodney King-inspired plot is depressingly still relevant today. The movie could really stand to be less rape-y, though.
and then you stop before it becomes trite
Don’t worry, he uses a really heavy feather.
I will grant, not everything about Diamondback, because you’re right- Erik LaRey Harvey was having an absolute blast playing him.
Holy shit, this is the most 90s XTREME thing in the world, from Wikipedia:
The things that sucked about Luke Cage: all of the sub-plot around the super-science that created him, everything about Diamondback, and the inevitable 3-4 episodes of padding that every Marvel Netflix series has (just make the season 8 episodes long if you only have story for 8 episodes! Christ!).
But Travelers just started S2 production, so we’ve got the time travel show I care about taken care of.
Captain Cold is the best part of everything in the Arrowverse.
