The Earth is not traveling around the sun relative to me. There is no fixed frame of reference, this is doubly true when you permit time travel. Further, any time travel device is also a space travel device, for the same reason why any space travel device is a time travel device (only in one direction, certainly, but

I'm Remy Porter. By day, I'm a programmer, by other days, I'm an assistant editor at The Daily WTF (an IT humor site). I'm a hobbyist fiction writer, a hobbyist musician, a hobbyist in improvised theater, and a hobbyist human being.

But it's got floating heads! And contrast between cool colors and warm colors, trending towards blue and orange. THAT'S EVERYTHING A POSTER IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE. I mean, it's even got a meaningless tag-line. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?

I think that was more re-opening old wounds, which is even more… whatever the word for that moment is. I don't think English has one. The Germans probably do.

That would be awesome. It would really help develop all of their characters in a far more interesting way than chucking Portman in the fridge.

On the other hand, is it really necessary to kill the female character to advance the arc of the male character... again? It's such a hoary trope. While I agree that Portman's character is a waste, it seems like the real way to fix that is to give her something interesting to do. That's a challenge for the

A fireworks display is an amazing feat of creativity and engineering. Some of the larger ones take thousands upon thousands of man hours, with talents involved from chemical engineers to pyrotechnic specialist to creative designers. They're a wonderful example of controlled danger, and we find a fireworks display

"Transformers 4 just got a bit more interesting."

In the same vein, Sandman Slim would work, possibly better than Dresden. Dresden's too much of a "good guy", even when he's being the "bad boy". Slim fits a little more with the broken literary rejects of the League.

It's Catamari.

Lobo is comic relief.

One technique I like to use is something I equate with jazz. There's a rhythm to the sentences, and I might slide into a flowery, metaphor-laden sentence that's nothing but color, and then right behind it I'll advance the action with a flat, dry sentence. It's like going from a clarinet solo, all mellow and noodly,

Mystery Men

Well, I can kinda see the evil of killing Ewoks. They're cute and all. But don't the Jar-Jar pants make up for it?

It's okay to hate him. I love to hate Walter White. He's been evil for ages now.

Appropriate for io9:

I thought it dated the film when it was new (and I was only a teenager- my favorite parts of the film involved boobs). But the idea that between when the film was released and the year 2000, we'd have this magical brain recording technology struck me as silly, even when the film was new.

Strange Days is a painfully underrated movie. If only they hadn't tried to anchor it to the Y2K stuff, it would have held up better.
