I just don't get it. At first I was psyched when I read that it's 'text-only' but it's not. It opens webpages normally. I was hoping for a lynx-like HTML -> text view.

PS. I also like Markdown because I think it's easier for many clients/bosses to write than Textile and some alternatives. Also, i think that lightweight markup languages are actually less frustrating (over time) for clients to use than using WYSIWYG editors.

I started with Notepad, then Notepad2, then Notepad++. Following a suggestion from The Pragmatic Programmer, I decided to use a cross-platform text editor that works in a terminal over SSH, as well as on the desktop ... so I moved to vim (and I haven't looked back since!)
I agree with those who've suggested a different system, whereby maybe you can mod a comment(er) up or down or simply click a button on each comment you like.

Most if not all Linux distros do those things (which OSX does) out-of-the-box, and it's a _much_ friendlier environment for someone like you who wants vim+gcc and works in terminals (Linux terminals are _so_ much more functional…
