Eh, I’ll still go with lol not important. He’s valuable, in that his value is a net positive in the regular season, but I’m comfortable stopping there.

Generally speaking, the Pirates should spend more, but from a baseball standpoint there’s nothing wrong with their offseason. They know their window is closed, so reallocate toward the next one. They are still fielding a competitive team, just one that’s likely to hover around 80 wins.

Any alternative didn’t even occur to me until I got to the comments.

For example, returning to your comment 14 hours later and discovering a pretty egregious grammatical error that you can no longer edit.

I have a pretty long list of “things worth getting worked up over” if your looking for a good alternative.

I don’t disagree Windhorst has his own agenda, but on that point, Windhorst is probably right. I think Lowe said that if you think you only have a 15% shot at LeBron, you start planning for the future. But that number should be more like, what, 3%? It’s LeBron fucking James! What can you possibly do in 2017-18 while

Just to be clear, is the contention that Chicago is a small city?

Blowout is easier to deal with in the moment.

Shit, man, only 24 months since your last Lombardi trophy. Must be rough.

Hey man, if giving themselves unclever monikers is the worst thing they’re doing, let’s just call it a victory and move on.

Podcasts. It used to be multiple different podcasts, but now it’s basically just re-listening to every episode of Hollywood Handbook for a 5th time.

Nah, actually it’s a testament to Duke that a person that doesn’t follow basketball that closely can guess a player’s alma mater based solely on how fucking insufferable he is.

I don’t know, I’m bitterly disappointed by the absence of “beefcake.”

Well, just going off my daily browsing of the rumor mill, it sounds like they’re still in on Lorenzo Cain, and if not, would turn to a Jarrod Dyson/Cameron Maybin type. So at the very least, they seem aware that McCutchen is best used in a corner.

Eh, McCutchen still at least brings above average athleticism and doesn’t have the injury concerns Pence does. I think he’d be above average out there, given a little time for adjustment. I’d put him in right, though it’s probably splitting hairs.

From an outsider’s perspective, I get hating Nutting (or any owner that gets a pass for being in a “small” market), but hating Huntington never made sense to me. People are down on these two trades but I feel like he’s earned some benefit of the doubt (I like Musgrove quite a bit, personally).

Indications are that he’ll be playing right.

Congrats on being so much smarter at basketball than everyone else!

It’s a little-acknowledged fact that Bortles’ UCF team accomplished nearly the same thing that the 2017-18 National Champions did, winning the Fiesta Bowl and losing only to an excellent South Carolina team early in the season ( they also handed Teddy Bridgewater’s Louisville their only loss of the season).
