I miss my GTI, even though it was a Mk3 2.0l. The intermittent wipers that were infinitely variable, you just held them down for the desired delay. The manual windows (on a car with a power moonroof). The heat/AC controls that were large and easy to operate without looking at them. The (dare I say) reliability - zero

Nice work! While the trip out there can be cold (saw a guy once making the trip in April at night with no windshield, he did not look warm), and slow, there is nothing like driving around the desert with the top off. Good luck! 

Anybody else remember the crazy 928 widebody kits from the eighties? Matching numbers and 928s seem silly to me, these were customized right after purchase.

On my V70R, if I hold the wheel over and floor it, the traction control will kick in and limit my speed to a walk. If I hit the button to turn off DSTC, flooring it will result in oversteer. If I use the magic sequence of turning off DSTC a few times in a row, I’ll get a different message that ESP is disabled/limited
