Really? What about when Tom Ridge announced that we should all get duct tape and plastic sheeting and cover our windows to prepare for dirty bombs? Was it possible to buy duct tape in California? Because I remember duct tape and plastic sheeting being sold out for weeks.
I was at work and I remember that everybody left to go put gas in their car. Some folks were shot in a nearby town for cutting in front of someone in the line that went around the block...for the gas pump. I remember thinking “Is the rest of the country doing this, or is this yet another Kansas thing?”
Except boxing was largely killed because HBO massively overpaid for the best bouts and showed them only to it’s very small subscription base instead of the huge audience the sport enjoyed on network television. Let that model run for 20 years and the sport was effectively on life support. And still is.
I’m glad somebody understands that. I work in a small town bank that is across the street from a police station. Any time our silent alarm is tripped these guys come across the street and position themselves as though they aren’t letting the guy out of the building.
I have a plan for these situations that has never failed. I just ask where the bathroom is and then I walk out the nearest exit and go where drunk people aren’t.
