I was wondering this also. It’s a blog, not a print magazine. You don’t have a deadline to get it typeset in time for this month’s issue. Why did they have to mollify some no-name freelancer that his article would be published “on time”? Were Stout and Arnold good friends or something?

Seems a little odd that Hall wouldn’t get fired as well. Seems like the structure that he approved of was tailor-made for fuck-ups.
