The toothbrush stuff was too long and mexico location was such a strange contrast with say, the production values of season 1 which was a style that worked just fine for many years.

That conversation was amazing, how serious Leon was being.

I thought this was by far the best episode of the season and actually one of the funniest ever.

Is Dr Disrespect ‘edgy’?

In Teen Wolf (from 1985), the will they/wont they girlfriend of Michael J Fox was named ‘Boof’ - seems like that may have been a bad choice if it was common lingo.

I watched it some back then, and it seems the same as always now.  It’s the fans who changed.

What a goddamn legend.

Seems like a little bit of a dick no?

Joaquin Phoenix was godlike in it, top 10 all time performances, maybe even top 5. I shiver at the thought of people hating the film though it is very weird.

Couldn’t disagree more, I think it’s positively shocking that Joaquin Phoenix didn’t win Best Actor for it, it’s one of the most naturalistically real performances I’ve ever seen.

I saw this movie at the 70mm screening at the Castro in SF. I absolutely loved it and have thought about it ever since.

I had no real idea about Hamilton or Lin-Manuel Miranda other than knowing he was responsible for it, and I had never seen him before. But he was fucking hilarious in his appearances this season.

I don’t expect television or film to ‘get with the times’ but that whole thing really did get an ‘eww’ out of me. Partly because there was nothing very funny about the interactions, as was pointed out.

i just mentioned this song in another comment.. as soon as he said it i thought of the song and i’m amazed so many people are treating it like novel lingo

I’m glad i’m not the only one who was shocked by Susie. She looks fabulous.

Come On Sister is easily one of their best songs ever. Easily. It would be the career-best song of nearly every other band.

someone linked a disqus thread for ep 16, maybe they will again

I think this sort of snark is misplaced. What people enjoy is clearly NOT long wordless car rides, but given the space to breathe, the atmosphere changes and the dread builds and the viewer wonders. A show that swiftly moves from set piece to set piece or crams in a ton of exposition everywhere can never do that.

Some people have remarked about the car that Carrie thinks is following them. Nothing more is shown or said of it but it was a several minute scene. It was done for a reason. I think it is subconsciously meant to give the feeling that someone arrived in Twin Peaks before Coop and Carrie, and to the old Palmer home

Agreed. I’m actually surprised more people haven’t said that.
