now i think i agree however you could've just showed him looking down at his watch.. that's pretty universal… i don't remember the time itself being important?

I was really into the whole 'Andy is dirty' line of thinking back when they very clearly focused a camera shot on his Rolex. But I fear that was just some random misdirection now.
I'm not sure I have much to add this week, other than that I really enjoyed it but:
I think your last comment is the most interesting here. That has to be absolutely intentional as a reference and a hint as to what's going on.
I'm a reasonably big U2 fan, especially unforgettable fire -> zooropa, but Songs of Innocence is just not good in any way. None of the songs hold up for me.
Ariel Pink shits over all of that, even though some ok stuff is mixed in.
I was intrigued enough by a couple songs i heard on XMU to go see them live, only to have them whip out 10-minute long wanky guitar solos like they were a 70s arena rock band. Needless to say I will not be continuing my fandom.
For me there are only two - Ariel Pink and Wolf Parade.
I remember in the early-mid 90s when Spin did an issue of 'the best albums ever' or something, and Daydream Nation was literally #1 and I was like OH COME ON….
Possibly their best song. But then the next album was 100% genius beginning to end.
The Life Pursuit, DIRECTLY after D.C.W. is their best album so you really need to at least check that one out.
Agreed. I know they have done a fair range of stuff, but to me they always sound like 'the band that did Stand and Shiny Happy People trying to do other stuff' - that sort of nerdy twangy novelty stuff seems so right for them, everything else seems like they are pretending.
what's the one with Everlasting Gaze? that is a beefy titan of a song.
They sucked after Siamese Dream.
If by haunting you mean extreeeeemely 80s.
Because people have terrible taste and don't recognize genius even if it punches them in the face.
Yes.. Fold Your Hands is their only album that is not >= Excellent.
Is that the one that has no dynamic range at all?
Outside is redeemed by I'm Deranged.
Really? One of the best songwriters ever lost you with an album that has Modern Love, one of the best songs ever written?
