*Norma makes the same nod of approval she did when Shelly said they didn't want to lose Becky*
Here's something I haven't seen discussed anywhere yet - when they show the dispatcher answering a ton of calls in a row. We know it's not like that all the time - there were shots of the dispatch room before where nothing was going on.
I can't stop thinking about how Balthazar Getty as Red looks nothing to me like he did as Pete in Lost Highway. I would never guess they were the same person.
Off topic of course but I'll never understand what people see in Game Of Thrones. It's no different than anything people made fun of D&D nerds for liking for 30 years. Why is it cool now? (no offense, D&D nerds)
unfortunate that there isn't you mean?
Exactly.
I called Miriam being alive in last week's thread, because it was so obvious, but somehow everybody's review of the episode was about Richard killing her.. pay attention to everything that is shown! You gotta know that by now 3 seasons in.
That was dumb. "I didn't mean to do that!" - uh, your mother was on the hood and you sped away in reverse and turned as hard as you could.
Didn't you read the review? Twin Peaks: The Return. That's the plot!
The song kind of weirded me out. At first I thought it was supposed to be coming from the radio in the limo but the sound design wasn't made to sound like that, so it was just a really shitty performance of the song scoring the drive for no apparent reason.
I took it to mean that even though it was old and didn't physically change, it's always 'true' in some mystical way.
It was a really poor miming of playing the piano, that's for sure. Am I wrong to think every single thing that happens is intentional by Lynch though? He's a musician, the first thing he would notice is that..
Another small moment I liked was Bushnell doing pushups against his desk.
How goddamn frustrating was it that Hawk didn't explain the symbol on the map that was also on Briggs note that was also on Evil Coop's playing card he showed Darya? I've been wondering about that shit for MONTHS.
The only scene that didn't work for me was the meeting after Hastings head got 'sploded. They barely seemed to give a shit about it, and the whole 'i saw someone get out of the car' was said matter of factly by Diane.. it's like.. WTF? The whole thing was just so bizarrely played. But I guess I should be used to…
I think Madchen Amick's bits have been hit or miss. Some of the line readings are good, some are off to me.
First, before anything else, I just wanted to say that the entire last scene was a masterclass by everyone involved from Lynch to the set decorators to the DP to the actors.
The more I think about the direction Lynch & Frost decided to go with S3, the more genius I feel like it is.
I was essentially drooling at her for the 6+ minutes.
