Automation: I made a test framework that opens and closes the Door a thousand times a second.

Pipeline: Every machine in the studio will now be automatically updated nightly with the latest Door.

It’s certainly no I Wanna Be The Guy, that’s for sure.

They have a couple different ways of making money. The big one for small studios/indie developers is their hosted game server system. It’s a bit much to explain here, but the gist of it is that they offer hosted game servers for lobby-style games (like Counter Strike, for example) that handle all the load balancing,

There’s an old saying in game development: You can make a game or an engine, not both. Granted, AAA studios are able to get around this by having entire teams devoted to engine development so they aren’t taking any resources away from the development of the game itself. If you aren’t AAA though, use someone else’s

Holy crap, I wonder if you can play Prison Break mode with that? That would be so intense.

There seems to be a common theme here with these indie devs letting themselves get wrecked by the Internet: they use their personal accounts. I may be wrong, but you don’t see things like this happening to indie devs that use a “studio” (even if they’re the only one in it) as their public face. It’s always the ones

I see a lot of comic articles posted, most of them on superhero comics. Anyone here a fan of Worm? If you aren’t yet, you probably should be: https://parahumans.wordpress.com/

You know, I wonder how the father views the in-game narcotics and alcohol. I imagine it’s a very interesting perspective. Does he view them as purely a game mechanic? Are they a constant reminder of how easy it would be to slip back onto old crutches? Or something else?

Spoilers: Jackie Chan was replaced by a Synth years ago.

I’m sorry, but that first complaining user’s logic (Ripley) just doesn’t work. “I wanted to sell it now but instead it makes me wait 15 days before it will sell it at the same price. What if the value goes up in that time?! If you had just let me sell it without the 15 day waiting period I could have sold it for—oh

I think it largely depends on how your studio operates. The one I work at has a solid hierarchy with the decision-making responsibility becoming steadily more micro as you go down the ranks. Word doesn’t really come down from on-high (with some exceptions for Big Brother) that This must be made using That. Usually

Man, that look in the 2nd to last: “YES! FINALLY MY TIME HAS COME!”

Last 2 seconds: he ded

I MUST KNOW

I believe they explicitly mention that they killed everyone but you. Their method was basically just unplugging everyone.

Oh god dammit. Your comment just made me realize the whole joke of the video. *facedesk*

Dude, Cannon Fodder was so awesome. I don’t think I’ve seen anything quite like it since. Someone should really remake that game for modern PCs.

That’s definitely very possible. I do remember P4's general game mechanics being better implemented and the gameplay being smoother. That still doesn’t make me like the presentation though :P

I didn’t even know that these were a thing before now, and I was huge P3 fan! I actually really disliked P4 in comparison. P3 > P4 fans are definitely in the minority though...
