I disagree (on it being hard to look at). I think it’s aged incredibly well, especially for being pretty close to a PS2 launch title, and is still one of the most artistically beautiful games out there. The game looks more like hazy aged film rather than blatantly low-res models and textures.

While everyone (including myself) raves about SotC I find far too few people have ever played ICO. While you become deeply connected with your avatar in both games, SotC seems to play more on your morality while ICO deals more with your emotions (specifically your attachment to Ico and Yorda).

As development progresses and deadlines approach things get cut, and the closer you get to the deadline the bigger the feature is that gets the axe. That’s just a fact of game development. As someone who lived in Japan for a short time I can tell you, this is (or at least, was) an accurate depiction of Japanese women, especially teenagers. I’d be out there freezing and every one I saw would complain about how cold it was but not really show any outward signs of it.
