Jurassic Park 3 was clearly phoned in all around and knows it. It honestly feels like a schlock B-movie. Sam Neill's character's entire motivation being a paycheck is a pretty good metaphor for the movie itself.

The issue isn't that a female character was killed off, but the way that the death was handled by the director of the film felt really mean spirited for someone who hadn't really done anything wrong. It would have been a satisfying death if it had been the army guy. I think it also has to do with the fact that the

It's made even worse by the fact that the katana's ability to take people's souls has absolutely no pay-off whatsoever.

That unfortunately seems to happen with a lot of these sorts of movies. Look at all the comments and mass downvoting from butthurt Serb nationalists at Angelina Jolie's film. Unfortunately like that film, this film seems to have the best of intentions but isn't very good, but it's good to have a movie that deals with

I really hope you're right. But even if not all the rumors are true, I think there is definitely trouble behind the scenes. The whole production just stinks of it.

I agree. Though unfortunately I think there only are like 3 X-Men films I'd consider good (4 if you count Deadpool). It's kind of amazing that Logan exists in the same franchise as X-Men Origins and X-Men Apocalypse.

Seeing him was pretty eye roll inducing, agreed.

I agree totally. Roddenberry's 'everyone gets along' philosophy put such a stranglehold on the writers that most of them left and TNG was almost cancelled during its first season.

I mean to be fair a lot of it is rumor and speculation. But Midnight's Edge has a pretty good track record with this sort of thing (see their stuff on the DCEU, Fant4stic and Ghostbusters). And this isn't the first bit of smoke from a very obvious fire. This is item 5 or 6 in a "this productive is absolutely fucked"

Yes. Enterprise had a weak start and even weaker finish; it systematically ignored the lessons of the previous 3 series; and it concentrated too much creative control in too few people who were simply not up to the task. Fresh blood and a new direction, plus breaking some of the old rules, was what really breathed

Enterprise had Dear Doctor and A Night in Sickbay, which give Threshhold some pretty stiff competition.

They talked about it on Midnight's Edge. You can take it or leave it, but their industry knowledge and scoops have for the most part panned out.

The whole thing is shaping up to be a disaster. Apparently several actors want out and Netflix are furious with CBS and may demand their money back.

Yeah but the way the in-universe explanation is given is extremely tone-deaf, and merely accentuates the complaints rather than addressing them. It opened up the opportunity to actually make a point with itself…but it does nothing with it and makes it even more silly.

Yes, the original character is Japanese, because the original production is Japanese. This is an American remake, and it kinda makes sense to cast a popular American actress who fits the role well?

I'm in the minority here but I actually like the live-action Death Note adaptation. I think its ending is way better than the godawful manga/anime ending.

Captain Boomerang, and especially Katana and El Diablo were also pretty cringe-worthy as well. In fact, now that I think about it, basically every minority character expect possibly Will Smith and Viola Davis were racial stereotypes.

The pod racing is okay on its own, and it's about the only part of the movie that is memorable, but it also completely fucks up the already bad pacing of the movie.

This is Katana. She's got my back. She can cut all you in half just like mowing the lawn. I would advise not getting killed by her. Her sword traps the souls of its victims.

I thought Ethnic Stereotype Croc looked good, but the Joker looked like a rejected David Bowie character and Harley Quinn looked like a hot topic model with clown paint.
