I work at a plant that builds the LT1 engines and I can’t bring myself to get a Camaro over a Mustang. I want to like it so much but from the outside it’s at best a hotwheels toy and from the inside it’s a tank.

With so many sold there are bound to be lemons, by in large reviews I’ve seen on reliability have been very favorable for the 2015 to 2017s. The 5.0 is a durable engine. Of course I don’t expect civic reliability out of a 400hp GT from the US. Time will tell in the long run but it’s likely too soon to tell.

The SS helped prices a bit, but most are still above the $40k range so GXPs have been pretty constant in the $30-$35k range. I think what probably hurt G8 GXPs more is that 2nd Gen CTS-Vs are droping a bit, some decent examples can be had in the $35k range.

Great cars, though mine will probably never get more than I paid for it (granted that was only $2k) being an auto with over 188K. But I enjoy it for what it is, and I’ll drive in to the ground.

Do people really expect these to be collectible enough to justify a 70% bump in cost? The Camaro Z/28 and Boss 302 were both fairly limited and have only depreciated. Hell you can get a Z/28 for price of a new SS now. But hey it’s not my money.
