After three weeks of single-minded binge watching dedication, I finally caught up with Parks & Rec. It's a great show, and I'm sad to be coming to it this late in the game. But it does kind of feel like it's time for it to end though. Ever since Leslie got elected, she's been non-stop fighting with everyone. If it's

True. I remember being really disappointed about that the first time I saw it.

I finished the first season of The West Wing, which is surprisingly funny. The sheer number of extras they have moving through the hallway walk-and-talk scenes just boggles my mind. I can't believe they did those Steadicam shots every week. Also, can Marlee Matlin be in more things, please?

I found the gratuitous nudity offensive, but I guess that's part of what makes a B-movie a B-movie. Not my style.

It's at the Tivoli and a few other places. The screening I volunteered at was at the new stage at KDHX.

I have been to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and I can confidently say it is one of the saddest, most screwed up places on this earth. The capital city, Kinshasa, looks like something out of an apocalypse movie. The government is corrupt, there is virtually no infrastructure, and the eastern side of the

I volunteered at the St. Louis International Film Festival last night handing out programs at a poorly-attended tribute to the B-movie actress Roberta Collins. The first hour was a mix of movie clips and music from a live band who had written songs inspired by Collins. Then there was a screening of Caged Heat. I'd

The Pie Hole from Pushing Daisies. No question.

I started watching Hannibal. I actually caught a few episodes last year when it premiered, but didn't stick with it for some reason. But the Internet seems to love it, so I decided to give it another shot. Also, I loved Pushing Daisies, so I was interested to see more of Bryan Fuller's work.

Thank you, friend. That's great to know.

Does anyone know the name of the song that played over the montage of Hannah and her aunts sleeping in the hospital hallway?

The whole thing? I've heard from so many people that it's a fantastic series—which is why I started watching it in the first place—but I'm just a little bored with it. Maybe I'll have to give it another chance.

Agreed. I just think that people have a tendency to place a lot of weight (no pun intended) on actors' extreme weight loss/gain—as if it automatically guarantees a good performance. It doesn't. That being said, both McConaughey and Leto's performances were great.

Having finally given up on Friday Night Lights halfway through the third season, I turned my attention away from binge-watching television to movies.

I gave up on The X-Files halfway through season 8, but I'm looking forward to the season 9 reviews. Maybe I'll actually even watch some of the episodes, too…

Was anyone else impressed with Deschanel in this episode? I usually find Jess to be irritating and one-dimensional, but dare I say I actually liked her in this episode. Especially in the scene where Nick first kicked her out of bed. She seemed more like a real person for once.

Haha, yeah. There's been a little math so far, but I'm hoping there won't be too much. Although he does seem to love it, so who knows. I don't know much about Russell, but a friend recommended the book, so I thought is give it a shot.

I'd also recommend the Song of the Lioness series by Tamora Pierce. It's about a young girl who becomes a knight. I remember loving it as a kid. It made me realize that not adventures aren't just for boys. Pierce has also written a lot of other books and series, which I never got into, but my younger sister loved. So

Didn't get the chance to watch too much stuff this weekend, but what I did watch, I loved. I finally got around to seeing Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, which was awesome—and way funnier than I expected. I'll definitely be rewatching it in the future. And I saw Her, which was fantastic. Gorgeous movie with an

Yeah, I've been wondering how they'd handle the whole invasion thing. Too bad they didn't get their act together and release the third film in December 2012. But judging from the various panels Carter, Duchovny, and Anderson were on this year, it does sound like all three of them are up for a third movie. So I haven't
