Ultimate Spider-Man (the original comic) and Spectacular Spider-Man (the cartoon) show that Spider-Man works wonders in a high school setting. The problem here is that a movie doesn't really have the time to develop the characters so the high school setting feels ideal to the movie.

I hope Crazy Ex Girlfriend gets something. It truly deserves and probably needs the recognition.

Apparently in one scene in the finale, Francis has a shirt tag that reads Wilkerson.
