Seeing that paunchy Trumpie goober metaphorically getting his bow shoved up his ass was deeply satisfying. He decided to go out courting trouble and he found some.

ok boomer

Ah, the days long gone when flying was a glowing politely shared adventure, dressing up, comfy roomy seats, good food - included! - prompt customer first service in all aspects..with still, due, sincere respect for those who work the industry, especially those with direct contact with the flyer....Chicago stockyards

A printed boarding pass with your seat number is a method of avoiding the kind of confrontations we hear about maybe 4 or 5 times per year where the airline computer somehow gives out the same seat twice.  It’s proof from the airline computer that you’re not making things up.

I always print mine, too. Anecdotally, when it’s time to board, scanning a printed boarding pass at the gate seems to be a bit faster than scanning a boarding pass via the app/smartphone. Anything to help make the process even a tiny bit faster and smooth. God, I hate air travel.

Black employees following racist policies or racist work cultures lead to members of the public experiencing racism.

So based on the article, there will be 2 suits being filed, one can expect there will be others as MJ seemed to be always surrounded by children. One can also expect the Jackson family to be doing all they can to transfer and protect any funds and royalties that his estate generates and as the reserve of those funds

I think she’s a great girl? Really, Jay? That’s pretty condescending. But that was probably the point.

And the people of Chicago lose - again.

It didn’t work in so far as the War On Drugs didn’t work, but that damn slogan was everywhere back in the 80s and early 90s. If you were a kid in that era, you got inundated with that crap.

They said my name is on the list too. But when I went to see the list it was on the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying “Beware of the Leopard.”

Yeah...gutted.  It’s gonna be tough to envision any other voice for Granddad.

He cannot be replaced; he’s too iconic and too perfect for Grandad. Some of the best episodes revolved around Grandad and his escapades, and I cannot see anyone else filling those roles. I felt the same about Samurai Jack when they found someone to fill in Mako Iwamatsu’s shoes for Aku, though it’s easier to accept

Regarding “slave” vs. “enslaved,” it is like so many words that are, in Coate’s terms, “duhumanizing” but which go on for so long and so ubiquitously that we lose the conscious sense that they are dehumanizing. And alternative wording often eludes us.

I’m not a fan of Bernie or Biden, but in this case Biden’s comment was much more insulting, in that he effectively managed to avoid answering the queston, by providing a cute little soundbite. IMO
That said, Bernie’s answer wasn’t great either.

The question was what would he tell his black son to do in the case he was pulled over. This article pretends it’s his general response to racial injustice in America. I challenge someone here to answer this question in a meaningfully better way, considering that it is you giving advice to your black son.

The quote from his father, Michael McGlockton, is GREAT. No hugging bullshit:

Palm Beach County Circuit Judge John Kastrenakes rescinded his contempt finding against 21-year-old Deandre Somerville, writing that Somerville has been apologetic, “totally rehabilitated” and no longer needs to be on probation [...]

One time my driveway had a delivery van blocking it and I had to park on the street instead of my garage.  It is a small miracle that I made it in the front door of my own house and not the home of the lady next door...
