This! This scene pissed my husband and me off royally. When they "stormed" in after Beth's suicide, we were all "oh, NOW the Cavalry shows up…" That was damned stupid. There had to be a better way.

I think it is different, because the intention wasn't to fake *us* out at all. It was all about Michonne not knowing where Rick was. I mean, I didn't know where he was, but I knew without a doubt he wasn't new and improved Zombie Chow.

I wasn't really feeling as if it was giving up - it was more shock, I thought. By the same token, though, as strong as she is - we all have a point at which we've had enough.

I agree. Anyone who watches this show regularly knew immediately that it wasn't Rick - the idea was that Michonne didn't know it wasn't Rick.

The Scavengers.

Chlorate, per my closed-captioning (so, presumably the same thing, or something similar to it?) The show posited that adding chlorate to the gunpowder recipe would speed up production, but significantly raise the risk of explosions during production. Cholmondeley said the French “blew Mauritis almost in half."

That's exactly what it was - I had closed-captioning on.

I watch the show with CC on. Thorne said something along the lines of "God have mercy on my soul." So, yeah, not a prayer of gratitude!

Cholmondeley's little helper is Louis Serkis, son of Andy Serkis ("Gollum" in the LOTR movies).

I straight-up gasped. I'm so jaded that I made it through the season premiere of The Walking Dead barely batting an eye, but Lenny dropping the baby was old-school OMGWTF!!!11!! for me.

Closed captioning is your friend.

We were really struggling with the dialogue last night. My husband wanted to just give up, but I put my foot down and put the closed-captioning on. All of a sudden, the hubby's all involved.

Upvoted for "Dyeing rags and making flags with Doug Stamper." Still laughing!

Nothing, I'm sure. But I have no desire to see THE REVENANT, Hardy notwithstanding. My husband saw it and warned me away from it.

I got here by way of a review of Hardy's show on FX, TABOO. I have to tell you, Dowd, I couldn't disagree more with your review. LOCKE was wonderful.

We were surprised to hear three F-bombs dropped in the first episode alone. Hope springs eternal.

Legend was disappointing, and I was really looking forward to it.

I watched the first episode of Peaky Blinders, and I want to get back to it. My husband disliked PB, mostly because he had trouble deciphering accents and refuses to use closed-captioning.

With the exception of THE REVENANT, you can put Tom Hardy in just about anything, and I'll watch. That said, I had trouble staying awake for episode 1 of TABOO. I'll try again, but I hope it gets better.

I really don't understand how this proves the show is well written. I daresay if you cloak the main point in a lot of nonsense, then you're not writing well at all.
