What are you arguing about? I’m not saying to get rid of cars, or block off all the steeets to pedestrian only. Work on your reading comprehension. Wanting to get mad doesn’t mean the other person said whatever it is you want to get mad about

I think you missed my point. I’m not saying we need to give up cars, I’m simply saying that our current car culture is relatively recent and shouldn’t be considered untouchable gospel.
that’s a perfect summary of HOA’s. my boss is part of one.
They did. They’re in the suburbs where they belong - but they also love to hear dipshits like this guy on FoxNews because it gives them boners in their pleated Dockers..

Pretty sure that’s the album cover for an early aughts punk band called the New Left Urbanists that never quite got off the ground.

Commute time is a serious consideration, agreed. I spent 4 years in SoCal for a job beginning the summer of 2013 and when I returned...wow, traffic was noticeably worse into Portland and avoiding a nightmarish rush-hour traffic jam is almost unpredictable. Honestly, if I had a job in Beaverton I would want as close as…
I hear you, and so do a lot of others... which is why I5 and 205 are packed solid with traffic in the morning with people commuting in from Vancouver and points north. I choose to live in a small-ish place in the city rather than spend half of my life sitting in traffic just so I can have a big house with a yard in…
Move North across the river until you find something you can afford. Yes, many new subdivision homes in the PDX metro area are $550G - those aren’t starter right out of college homes or first time buyer homes. There are plenty of homes half that cost even in Clark County muchless Cowlitz county.
what are you talking about
