As far as early predecessors to reality TV go, Zsa Zsa was charming as hell; it's unfortunate her final years were so tough. R.I.P.

As a semi-counterpoint (although not a refudiation), that is the year of The Magnficent Ambersons, The Palm Beach Story, Cat People, and To Be or Not to Be.

That's… troubling.

Something something fellationut

Inferior comedy interior decorating.

I would pay two ticket prices for Allison Janney in a remake of Johnny Guitar, now that you think of it.

I… I take it back.

Screw the power-couple as the vehicle for a fading celebrity to attract attention! Beheadings are in, baby, in!

The possibility of Allison Janney whacking someone sounds intriguing, which begs the question: why have our screens not been graced thus far with a villainous, hammy Janney?

Not really- Bullock actually tries, despite continuing to be a bad actress.

Certainly! There was that one where she played a prostitute with a heart of gold, and that other one where she laughed loudly and charmingly!

Well, this was pretty inevitable, judging by her latest career track. She's been on the Halle Berry/Jennifer Lopez/Sarah Jessica Parker path for a while now.

My thinking was that ever darn category couldn't be dedicated to The Americans (Alison Wright and Dylan Baker are a thing).

I'll probably get to it someday (while skipping the TV movies)- maybe the summer, when the days are lazier.

I'm sure, regarding the CC years- it's just that "The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings" is a perfect ending.

Oh, it's excellent, and hilarious, etc.! It's just that I feel like crying after every episode- I don't think it's a good show for binging, in that light!

Oh, c'mon now, Bonanza over Andy Griffith and Jackie Gleason?

I think it's gotten to the point at which Alison Wright might be the best part of The Americans. And I love near-everything about that show.

Seconded, although I'm more sympathetic- it just really feels like Glover is a new writer, and new writers love to garnish everything with capital-letter social issues for the heck of it. I quit after the second episode, which is basically just a non-examination of transphobia, mental illness abuse in the prison
