I think Betty might've been the Audrey analog, in TV form anyway.

That much is true, but Lynch intentionally cut all of that out to focus on the story of Laura. We'll see what he decides to do here.
He's been hedging lately, but I think this was written and produced as a complete story. I also think he may want to do more.
I just don't think Lynch is interested in relegating Laura to that, and hasn't been since he began working on FWWM
Your anime avatar is nice
I love it. It's insane and ballsy and fits with Lynch's overwhelming obsession with Laura/Sheryl Lee as the center of Twin Peaks, an overwhelming obsession I conveniently share
Laura has always been our savior
I'm just saying, it's been their vision for a long time now
A lot of this was dreamed up 25 years ago.
Actually, it's gone up.
FWWM was always intended as a gutwrenching and very honest exploration of the realitis of incest for its victims. It in no way absolves Leland, it only implicates him further.
The boy's Hispanic. And Leland grew up in Twin Peaks, IIRC.
I legit thought one of the dirty boys was gonna show up in the backseat
I think a lot of the 1950s stuff dates back to early unmade drafts of Fire Walk with Me. Lynch's co-writer - Bob Engels, one of the head writers on the original series - has spoken before about their originally having written a lore-filled prologue set in the 50s showing the Lodge beings coming to our world in that…
Lynch has now made Laura a cosmic myth. I love it.
Gotta light
I think that might be Sarah, but the other kid was Hispanic.
It's amazing that even after 25 years of influencing generations of television, Twin Peaks can come back and reinvent everything again. There is nothing like this on TV, not before and maybe not after. Nothing touches it.
Amirpour didn't rape someone. She disagreed with a question.
I think so, yes.
