I definitely think it was supposed to be her.
I definitely think it was supposed to be her.
I thought the Richard theory was nonsense two weeks ago. Now (especially after what we saw with Diane) I don't. It's horrific and fits with what BOB is and what so much of the show and film are about at core.
Yep, same dude in the hallway.
And the Renaults apparently still run the sex trade in town under the table.
But even that imagery has roots in his art - the tree looks exactly like the cover of one of Julee Cruise's albums he produced. Anderson took himself out of the production at the last minute, and the character was integral to the story. They had to do something with the Man from Another Place.
Apparently the page they don't focus on in this episode - there is one sitting there where you can read Laura mentioning a plastic pumpkin full of cash and Blackie O'Reilly's sister Nancy - corresponds exactly to Jennifer Lynch's secret diary where a page is ripped out as she begins discussing that exact same thing.
The bit last week with Cole glibly ordering Albert around and praising him for struggling through the rain while he sits at home sipping "fine Bordeaux" with beautiful women was Lynch skewering himself a bit.
I doubt the humming was a coincidence. Josie in the wood was Lynch's idea to keep her in the story for later use, and of course Josie humming in front of the mirror was the very first scene in the pilot.
I think he didn't like lampooning the show's soap opera elements so directly. It was a Mark Frost thing.
I agree he will, but I don't think it will be out of exile.
Something I haven't seen mentioned which tripped me out: The reuse of some of the classic Badalamenti suspense music from the original series which begins to trickle in over the old-timey music in the diner over the end credits.
I think Janey-E is especially unquantifiable, or rather she subverts the "shrew wife" stereotype. I think what last week's episode and especially this one prove is she is more of a rigorous force of nature and ferociously loyal to her family and husband than a "shrew". She is his most fierce advocate with everyone.…
It's also bumping up or down(?) an hour sometime in July so as to avoid Game of Thrones.
I am not seeing that many sarcastic dismissals, but okay.
With a young stud leaving her place.
I think they know some things. Hawk was/is a Bookhouse Boy and he readily provided info on the Lodges.
I think that's unfair and that you're overthinking it. But you can either ask people to simply give the commentary a respectful silence and say nothing, or you can ask them to engage. I think some of us have done that. We don't need to cite the text chapter and verse when it's more of a larger issue that is about…
That scene with the lipstick on her face is terrifying.
Wanted to add that Miguel Ferrer was in rare form tonight. I think it is mostly time and tide (and possibly his cancer) that had him seeming more weary in previous episodes, but he never did not feel like Albert to me. Tonight though, it was all back in force.
Lynch hated it, so I am not betting on it.
