There is no way to research actual per issue sales, only wholesale orders from stores, which tells you nothing about what actually sells

Thornton Reed:
He’s a wild card.

Well, it’s a pretty low bar as Marvel comic’s sales are in the gutter across the board these days, but it’s still a niche book at best. I’d be shocked if the average issue broke 5000 actual sales.

I didn’t say she can only appeal to a niche audience, just that she does tend to and wouldn’t really work as an A list marquee character. anyone can read and enjoy whatever they like, obviously. And yes, paired with other characters she can be interesting. She was my favorite pert of GLA in the 90's. So again, fair

How was I being defensive? I don’t take anything on here seriously

Also, I didn’t have to google it, I happened to have IMDB open at the time ;)

Fair points. Though I don’t think much of comics criticism these days, you are right about it essentially being for a specific audience, I’m certainly not trying to take it away from them. I’m happy they have a book they enjoy and relate too. I’m just saying I don’t think she works as a marquee top tier character.

I don’t dislike Squirrel Girl as a comedic side character. But I think the buildup of the MCU thus far deserves a little more gravitas than having it concluded by a character who’s essentially the Marvel equivalent of Bugs Bunny

Well I definitely missed the “joke”, as I didn’t see anything fitting that description

Fifty poorly selling issues practically no one read. Unimpressed.

No... just......no.

Probably for the best. Squirrel Girl only works in small doses, like in Great Lakes Avengers. She’s never really worked as a lead character.

Yes, we really need a 76 year old Wolverine

Yes, right after asking a question, which is pretty disingenuous

He did, from most reasonable people

At least

Apologize to whom exactly? One would normally apologize to someone that they’ve hurt or wronged in some way. As ADemonsTwistRusts stated, he clearly made a sweeping statement expressing remorse and calling his actions awfull. Most people would take that to include the racist component. Who would you specifically

It’s definitely a revenge movie which may have led to the topic. But it’s not like the film has any overarching moral about the dangers of seeking vengeance, If anything, it’s the opposite lol.

That does seem to be the way things are going. I was just trying to kill time on a slow day, I’ve posted more today than I have in the entire time since A.V club went Kinja. This shit is bonkers.

Again, it’s a discussion board, I was trying to have a discussion. I explained what I felt was a problem with your argument, I was hoping to have you clarify your position and perhaps present a reasonable justification for why you seem so convinced that Liam Neeson still holds racists ideas. I’m legitimately
